Foundation II

A human skull occupies the centre of the image, resting as though in a setting. The cranial vault is invaded by dense organic matter that replaces what it should contain. The skull defines and protects an inner space. Here, that function shifts: the organic proliferation transforms the skull into an inhabited surface, almost an interior ground.

Unique piece, handmade in my studio in Amiens, France. Signed certificate of authenticity included.
