Paintings
The painting develops through layers. Successive glazes form skins in which the figure appears, recedes or comes to the surface. Bodies, fragments and organic forms emerge from the material. The surface retains traces of what constitutes it.

The proposal — 1997 Oil on canvas, 90 × 100 cm
I work with oil paint through successive layers. Glazes gradually alter the colour, depth and presence of forms. One layer covers another without necessarily making it disappear: something remains beneath and continues to act within the image.
This process allows me to approach the surface as a skin. It bears traces, allows certain forms to emerge while holding others beneath it. The body is thus constructed between appearance and erasure, visible matter and buried depth.
