A woman on all fours, seen from behind. The corset, a garment designed to constrain and shape the torso according to aesthetic ideals that have varied over time, becomes here the site of a reversal. Its lacing, which should tighten and close, instead forms the shape of a partially open sex. The garment ceases to be a mere envelope: it becomes skin, as though the body were appropriating what was meant to constrain it and turning it into a gesture of assertion. What confines becomes an opening; what shapes the body becomes a new anatomy.
