Catrina

Catrina’s face is divided between two appearances: skin and a Calavera mask. A scar displaced to the temple, an arm revealing its anatomy and an eye that remains vividly alive form a figure in which grief becomes visible without reducing the portrait to sadness. Skin, mask and anatomy coexist, between what is shown and what remains within.
