Story of the Eye

The eye occupies a central position within a dense architecture of curved forms, sharp points, cylinders and organic fragments. It no longer clearly belongs to a face: isolated at the heart of the composition, it becomes an autonomous organ caught within an inner machine. Around it, body, architecture and indeterminate forms seem to belong to the same space. This 1997 work shows that the motif of the gaze, revisited in the recent works, was already present in the early body of work.
